Competition Format

1

Who you play

Opponent priorities: your group first, then out-of-group opponents, then — if needed — opponents assigned by closest Elo rating. Each team typically plays 5–6 matches.

2

Match format & rules

Two-round matches, play to 21 (hard cap 25), no overtime games, no two-point net. Played under 2026 IRF / USAR rules: equal serving, drop-zone rule, no same-hand toss, expanded non-hitting zone (NHZ), smaller boundary lines.

3

Standings & ratings

Group points: Win 3 · Tie 1 · Loss 0. Team Elo ratings update only at the end of the matchday, not after each match.

4

Why it matters

Clubs are strongly encouraged to bring P1, P2, M1 and Women’s teams. M1 teams need one Super Regional to make the top bracket — and a P1/P2 club can’t reach the Top Championship Bracket without an M1 team at Matchday 2. Attend one Super Regional to stay eligible; attend both if you choose.

5

Stats count this year

Players must record stats at all events to qualify for end-of-year awards — the All-Star ballot and the Top 10 statistical awards. Registration opened May 15, 2026; schedules were released in mid-June.

Questions Answered

The key questions for this page. The full league FAQ — all 232 answers — lives on one page.

What is Matchday 1?

Matchday 1 is the opening competition of the PRO Roundnet League season featuring two national Super Regional events. Results impact division standings, Team Elo, playoff seeding, and postseason eligibility.

Where are the events?

Las Vegas Super Regional — Buckskin Basin Park
• Las Vegas, NV — June 27, 2026
• Grass Surface. Richmond Super Regional — River City Park
• Richmond, VA — August 1, 2026
• Turf Surface.

Do clubs need to attend both?

No. Clubs only need to attend one Matchday 1 Super Regional to remain eligible for the Top Championship Bracket pathway in their division. Clubs may attend both events for:
• More competition experience
• Additional Team Elo opportunities
• More match data and exposure
• Potential second-event discounts

What divisions compete?

P1, P2, M1, and Women's Division teams compete at Matchday 1. M2 participation may vary based on event structure and attendance.

What if a team misses Matchday 1?

Teams may still attend Matchdays 2, 3, and Playoffs, but teams that miss Matchday 1 are ineligible for the Top Championship Bracket pathway and may instead compete in lower playoff or survival brackets.
